Here are some of the key findings picked from the report:
- In comparison to the Q1 report, where brand keyword CPC rose by 10%, in Q2 the CPC grew even faster adding up to 40% YoY increase. Further, brand keywords CPC was 6% higher than Bing, being the first time that Google Brand Ads cost more than Bing’s.
- Yahoo Gemini produced 15% of search ad clicks across Bing and Yahoo’s partner sites. Though Bing still delivers the majority of the clicks on Yahoo, Gemini is observed to have scaled up tremendously.
- Despite Amazon’s reluctance in participating in Google’s PLAs, their impression share in text ads have soared over the last three years.
- As a result of the fixes made by Facebook, 60% of of social media-driven site visits in Q2 were from Facebook. Falling second in place is Pinterest with 18% of social site visits.
- Amazon’s Product Ads CPC were 46% lower than Google’s PLAs in comparison to being 25% lesser in Q 1 2015. Also, Amazon’s Product Ads are sought to drive revenue equal to 17% driven by Google’s PLAs.
